At long last…
After what seems like forever spent editing and sifting, I have FINALLY posted my China pictures online! Here they are: http://picasaweb.google.com/misspez330
Sorry again that I haven’t put a synopsis of Shanghai and the later part of Hangzhou up (you may just have to let the photos tell the story). I’ll see what I can do.
In daily life news, Summer is just chugging along at its usually fast pace. I have had a great time so far!
HIGHLIGHTS:
Anime Convention: It took place June 4-7 at Kalahari Water park in Sandusky, Ohio. It was a BLAST! While I was in the game room about 85% of the time (playing DDR, Naruto Ninja Taisen 4, Gears of War 2 andPop n’ Music…among other games), I was also able to attend other fun events such as the 2 techno raves (glowsticks included), Who’s Line is it Anime, Traveling in Japan Uncensored, Japanese Street Fashion (1 of 3 to win the prize for outfit!), and Tips to Better Photography. I had an AWESOME time there with my friends from Elyria (we stayed up for 30 hours straight WOOT!) and was able to take great pictures! One of these days I will put a couple up!
Family Vacation to Mexico:Only 2 days after returning from the anime convention, I went on vacation to Playa del Carmen in Mexico! It’s only about 30 miles south of Cancun. We basically did the “touristy” thing and stayed at a resort for all 5 days that we were there (which was all-inclusive with the food, non-motorized activities and drinks). We had an AMAZING time going parasailing, snorkling, riding on wave runners, andjust relaxing on the beach. We also found a great market where we bought some neat things to bring back home. Another event I will have to eventually post pictures of : P
21st Birthday: I turned 21 on June 22nd of this year! YAY! On my actual birthday (or really the day before), I celebrated by going to Dave & Busters with my family and my boyfriend. It was a TON of fun to be a little kid and play in the arcade (there were plenty of games including Pump It UP EXCEED, Time Crisis, Punch Out, and some Air Hockey). We also ate dinner there, which was really good!
Later that weekend I had a friend celebration at Buffalo Wild Wings—basically the crew all came out (along with the bf again [his name is Jim btw]) and we had fun chilling, eating, catching up and of course…a little bit of drinking. I actually ran out of tummy room before I got anywhere NEAR drunk (which is fine with me). haha!
Chilling with the Friends: We’ve been doing a lot of fun things together, such as bonfires, going out to coffee, and of course camping out! Camping is a new thing we tried this year, where we go out into our friend’s backyard (about a half mile or so into the woods—or until you can’t see any houses), build up a campsite complete with a bonfire and tarps to sleep on, and hang out all night! Usually we don’t get a lot of sleep, as we are generally talking, dancing and having a good time full of random-ness and revelry : )
The only other thing I’ve been doing all summer is working 5 days a week from 9-5pm doing Public Relations work at my College (specifically I am representing the Biology “Field Station” with my co-worker and friend Bridgette doing work such as advertising, posters, blogs, transcribing and interviewing). All-in-all we are trying to increase the public’s exposure to Hiram’s Field Station. I enjoy my job, since on top of all of that I get to photograph any of the events or “goings-on” at the field station, help out with any routine activities, and partake in some extra-curriculars (such as going owl-watching or planting a Monarch Butterfly Waystation [which was later named “Lepidoptera Lounge”]).
Basically it has been a FULL and productive summer thus far. And it’s only a little past half over! Hope everyone reading this has had a WONDERFUL summer so far—enjoy it while it lasts!
Best Wishes!
